Who Are We?

Patrice Wellness Initiative (PWI) Uganda was established as a transformative solution to Uganda’s mental health crisis. The initiative aims to bridge the mental healthcare gap by providing accessible, evidence-based, and compassionate rehabilitation services to individuals suffering mental illnesses.

Through the Patrice Wellness Initiative (PWI) Uganda, seeks to provide holistic care targeting not just the symptoms of mental illness but also their root causes such as substance abuse, childhood trauma and social marginalization. The center will serve a wide demographic, including persons with disability, school going Children, youth, women, the elderly, work environments, families and other vulnerable groups, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for recovery.

The initiative will also integrate prevention strategies by implementing multi-component, evidence-based programs that address substance use and other risk behaviors while promoting mental wellness. This dual approach of treatment and prevention ensures that Patrice Wellness Initiative not only treats current cases but also plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the future mental health of Ugandan communities.

Our Mission:

We exist to address common mental health issues affecting school going children, youths, persons with disability (PWDs), women and the elderly(on retirement) through provision of confidential, supportive and therapeutic environment for individuals to reclaim their mental wellbeing.

Our History

Patrice Wellness Initiative (PWI) Uganda is a women led organization founded in 2024 in response to the growing needs for accessible, compassionate and evidence based mental health support. Recognizing the increasing challenges of depression, anxiety, trauma, stigma, gender – based violence (GBV) and maternal health concerns in our communities, we set out to create a safe and inclusive space where individuals can find healing, resilience and empowerment. Since its founding, the organization has remained committed to breaking barriers around mental health, raising awareness and providing holistic interventions that promote wellness and dignity for all.
